The 2012 Fort Bend County Fair & Rodeo is dedicated to Buddy & Dorothy Fogle. They have been avid supporters of the Fair, the community and the youth of Fort Bend County for many years.
Buddy and Dorothy Fogle were high school sweethearts and have been married 51 years. They have two daughters who live near them in Richmond, Texas.
The Fogle’s started participating in the Fort Bend County Fair’s FFA and 4-H auction four years ago because of a single letter of invitation to attend the auction from Anthony Rychlik. He had gotten acquainted with the Fogle’s while helping his father Mike on a project of the Fogle’s farm.
The Fogle’s had felt a need to give back to the community in some way. They chose to help the young people in the area by buying some of their animals at the auction. The kids work very hard raising and caring for the animals and most of them spend the auction money on higher education. Buddy and Dorothy stay until the end of the auction each year to make sure every kid gets at least one bid to reward them for their hard work and they don’t go away empty handed.
Hats off to the 2012 Fort Bend County Fair Honorees — Buddy & Dorothy Fogle for their years of dedication to the Fort Bend County Fair.
