The Grand Wine & Food Affair has announced its 2011 Grand Auction and Raffle raised more than $23,000 for a scholarship endowment benefiting students at the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation will match all funds raised, doubling the value of this year’s addition to the endowment.
“Our event celebrates the culinary arts,” says Keri Schmidt, President and CEO of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and Director of The Grand Wine & Food Affair. “What better way to grow and enhance the industry than supporting the next generation of hospitality leaders.”
Dr. John T. Bowen Dean of the Conrad Hilton College adds, “We are forever grateful for the support we have received from The Grand Wine & Food Affair. As our reputation as the nation’s leading hospitality college grows, more and more scholarship support is needed to attract highly motivated students from around the world.”
The 9th Annual Grand Wine and Food Affair is scheduled for April 18 – 22, 2012 at the Marriott Sugar Land Town Square featuring world renowned winemakers and superstar chefs for five days of wine and food tastings, cooking demonstrations, live music, entertainment and more.
