The Junior League of Houston, Inc. awarded $21,200 to Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels as part of a Community Assistance Grant during a luncheon held at the Houston Junior League Tea Room in Houston.
“As a first-time grant recipient of The Junior League of Houston, Inc., we are appreciative of the money awarded to help feed our senior clients in northeast Fort Bend County,” said Manuela Arroyos, Chief Executive Officer at Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels. “The grant will help ensure that the agency can continue to provide meals at our congregate sites located in Katy and at TowneHome on West Bellfort.”
In this difficult economy, many senior adults struggle to make ends meet on limited incomes. The grant provided by the Junior League of Houston will help provide the necessary daily nutrition essential to the health and wellness of senior adults in the northeast part of Fort Bend County.
