The Light of the World
Looking at Christmas lights was one of my favorite traditions growing up. Mom and Dad picked certain houses and neighborhoods that they knew went all out with decorations, and we’d cruise the streets admiring the lights and – if the people were super-Christmasy – speakers playing music. The way some houses dominated the dark night with their bright colors demanded one’s attention.
Two thousand years ago, the Light of the World entered a dark scene. Jesus came to give light to a world shrouded in the darkness of sin.
He came to save humanity from that darkness. Some see the Light and draw near. Others see Him and prefer the darkness.
But either way, the Light of the World, Jesus Christ, is impossible to ignore.
Heritage Baptist Church in Missouri City invites you to join us for our Christmas Eve Service.
The service, which begins at 6 p.m., includes worship through singing Christmas songs and hearing the Word of God preached in a message by senior pastor Ed Byrnes.
Music minister Dennis Bell will share the account of Jesus’ birth and children are welcome to attend the service dressed as shepherds, wise men, angels or Mary and Joseph. We’ll end the hour with a candlelight service.
After Christmas and New Year’s Day are over and we all get back to our normal lives and schedules, join us anytime!
Sunday Morning Bible Study begins at 9:30 a.m. and we have classes for all ages. Sunday morning worship starts at 10:45 a.m.
Our AWANA program kicks back off at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6. Join us at Heritage as we strive to live out the gospel and love of Jesus every day. See our ad on this page for more information.
