Families are invited to experience fun and amazing science activities at “The World of Science,” a free Family Science Night hosted at Sartartia Middle School, 8125 Homeward Way, Sugar Land, on January 18, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The event is being sponsored by Sartartia’s Science and Robotics Club, in conjunction with Kalpana Vaidya through her Take Action Project for her Girl Scout Gold Award and the Girls’ World Forum. Together, they will help families explore the fun aspects of science by presenting at least 15 different hands-on activities, for children in grades K-8, focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. There will also be a live chemistry demonstration (limited seating is available).
“Science is such an important subject that I felt the need to get families involved,” said Kalpana Vaidya, organizer of this event. “I am hoping this event will start conversations about scientific concepts at home.”
The various activities will be provided by Girl Scouts, Society of Women Engineers, ExxonMobil, The Houston Museum of Natural Science, American Robotics Association, Houston Gem and Mineral Society, Austin High School’s Science Club, Fort Bend Beekeepers, Fort Bend Astronomy Club and others.
Concessions will be sold and donations will be accepted. All proceeds from this event will be used to support the activities of Sartartia’s Science and Robotics Club.
