The YMCAs of Fort Bend County, which includes the Fort Bend, Katy and TW Davis YMCAs, recently held its 6th Annual Spring Golf Classic and Auction, sponsored by Fort Bend Toyota and Sterling McCall Lexus, on Monday, March 26. Over 130 golfers participated in the one day event held at Pecan Grove Country Club in Richmond, which netted the YMCA over $50,000 for its annual Partners Fundraising Campaign. “We are extremely pleased with the community support this year and even more excited about the number of youth and families that we can support with the proceeds,” stated Bill Myers, YMCA Golf Tournament Chair and TW Davis Y Board Member.
Immediately following the tournament, a dinner was held at the Pecan Grove Country Club, which included silent and live auctions. The Live Auction was led up by the guest auctioneer, Jeff Council, County Treasurer and former T.W. Davis YMCA Board Member. The live and silent auctions, which were co-chaired by Y volunteers Cindy Drabek and Brenda Robinson, brought in over $4,000 for the YMCA’s Partners Campaign. The high bidder of the night was Nick Landoski of Fort Bend Toyota for a “Super Foursome” package of golf outings at several area courses.
The dinner event also recognized the teams with the best low net and low gross scores of the tournament. The first place team in the low-net score with a 35 was the Ultra Building Services team of Andy Sehgal, Sonny Puri, Narin Sehgal and James Berky. The first place team in the low-gross category with a score of 54 went to the NtheZone team of Jason Watson, Scott Read, Patrick Howell and Todd Buchanan. Other winners included the longest drive competition champions, Jennifer Johnson and Jerry Dockum. The closest to the pin winners were Jennifer Johnson and Scott Sukman. The pre-event putting contest was won by J.B. Garcia. All of the competition prizes were sponsored by Best Buy. The $500 “Hit The Green Contest”, sponsored by Fort Bend Toyota and Sterling McCall Lexus, was won by Tim Siragusa.
