Keep Sugar Land Beautiful hosted a very successful Trees Across Sugar Land on November 10 in Sugar Land Memorial Park. Two hundred twenty enthusiastic KSLB volunteers planted and mulched 400 five gallon native hardwoods.
Keep Sugar Land Beautiful would like to thank The City of Sugar Land, Apache Corporation, Houston Landscapes Unlimited and Whole Foods Market for their contributions to the success of the event. The Apache Foundation Tree Grant Program awarded KSLB the 400 native hardwoods that were planted. Houston Landscapes Unlimited dug 400 holes for the trees, and Whole Foods Market in Sugar Land donated the water and snacks for the volunteers.
Kudos to the Fort Bend Teen Service League, Travis HS Red Cross, BSA Troop 1316, Dulles Green, Clements Earth, Kempner HS Student Council, Austin HS, George Ranch HS, and the families that helped us plant! Thanks to our partners and volunteers the 7th annual Trees Across Sugar Land was a perfect gift to Sugar Land Memorial Park on their fifth anniversary.
Keep Sugar Land Beautiful hopes to see everyone back next year!!
