Fort Bend County Sheriff’s spokesman, Bob Haenel, said deputies arrested Miguel Ramirez-Rangel, 41, and Eustorgio Penaloza-Lopez, 33, in connection with a “human smuggling” ring after agents of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) received information which led them to a house located in the 6200 block of Paloma, located between Pleak and Needville. He said deputies assisted in the investigation at the house where 14 individuals were found to be held against their will.
Ramirez-Rangel and Penaloza-Lopez have been charged with aggravated kidnapping. They were found hiding in a wooded area east of the house where the victims were held captive, said Haenel. Both are in the Fort Bend County jail and under an immigration hold.
