Register your child for 2012-2013 Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten classes in Lamar CISD schools, April 30 through May 4. Registration will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or by appointment.
Parents with pre-kindergarten students in the Bowie, Jackson, Long, Pink, Ray, Seguin, Smith and Travis elementary schools attendance zones will be attending the new Juan Seguin Early Childhood Center.
Complete your Pre-Registration Form online at www.lcisd.org at any time, or complete the online forms at any of the LCISD elementary schools.
You MUST come in person to enroll your child and verify documents and pre-registration information. If you do not have all of the documents, please register your child anyway. You have 30 days to bring in the necessary documents. Each campus will schedule a kindergarten orientation before school starts. You will be notified of the time and place by mail.
When you go to the school, please bring:
• Your child’s certified birth certificate;
• Proof of address, such as a voter registration card or utility bill;
• A record of shots from a doctor, county health department, or clinic; and
• Proof of your child’s social security number. (If the child does not have one, applications will be available at the school.)
LCISD offers half-day Pre-Kindergarten classes to support the development of early literacy.
Eligible children must be four-years old on or before September 1, 2012. Eligible children must also meet one of the following criteria: Unable to speak/ comprehend English, qualify for Free or Reduced Lunches, homeless, children that are currently or have previously been in foster care or other residential care under the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), children under the conservatorship as a result of an adversary hearing with DFPS, the dependent child of an active United States Armed Forces member; or more the dependent child of a United States Armed Forces member that has been injured or killed while on active duty.
LCISD offers full-day kindergarten classes for all children who are five-years-old on or before September 1, 2012. Kindergarten is one of the most important years your child spends in school. He or she will learn the skills that form their educational foundation such as numbers, understanding words, recognizing letters, solving problems, following directions and getting along well with other children.
