Drive a Veteran to Galveston
A special tour of Texas’ official tall ship, Elissa, and the Lone Star Flight Museum has been arranged for the Veterans. They need a ride to Galveston in your vet. Vette’s for Vets is set for Saturday, October 8. 9 a.m.
Each corvette driver will be assigned a Domiciliary veteran to drive from the muster point to the Elissa, to lunch at the Queen’s Bar B Q, and then to the Air Museum. Each of these facilities is donating everything for the veterans. The tour guides for both the Elissa and the Flight Museum will be military veterans. One of the tour guides for the Elissa (x Navy) is also president of the Galveston Historical Foundation.
Help make this a memorable day for the Veterans. The meeting place for this ride will be at the Cracker Barrel, 231 Gulf Freeway, League City, FM 518, exit 23, at 9 a.m. and will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a direct drive to Galveston. The cost is $35 per person, covers admission, parking, police escort, and special tour guides. Please have cash at the drivers meeting at the Cracker Barrel on October 8. Cost for the lunch is $9 which includes meal, tea or cola, and dessert.
