On Monday, December 17, 2012, Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel said, “Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers, Inc. will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the subjects involved in a robbery of a Katy-area Wal-Mart Supercenter.” According to Haenel, sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate a robbery at 10:11 a.m., on the morning of November 30, 2012. He said, “Two suspects placed two flat-screen televisions into a cart, covered them with a blanket and walked out of the building with them.”
He went on to explain that the two men loaded the TVs into a black Chevrolet vehicle, then began to leave the parking lot.
A store employee was out in the parking lot trying to get a description and license plate on the suspect vehicle when the car drove up beside the employee.
Haenel said, “One suspect exited the vehicle and attacked the associate with his fists. He knocked the associate to the ground, got back into the vehicle and the suspects fled the scene.”
In the ensuing investigation, the attacker has been identified as Dytedric Fortune, 19, of Houston. The second suspect has yet to be identified; however, they are believed to be in the Houston area.
Detectives are seeking information on Fortune’s location and the identity of the second suspect. He is described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 25. He is believed to be between 5′, 9″, i to 6″, with a medium build and has long braided hair. At the time of the incident He was wearing an orange Texas Longhorn sweatshirt. Both men are believed to be in the Houston area.
Information which leads to the apprehension and filing of charges on the suspects involved could earn a reward of up to $5,000.
