Wharton County Junior College will present “Defying Gravity,” an inspiring fictional play that pays tribute to school teacher-astronaut Christa McAuliffe. The play inspires its audience to reach for the stars, during three performances on November 3, 4, 5 at the WCJC Horton Foote Theatre in the Duson-Hansen Fine Arts Building on the Wharton Campus. Curtain time is at 7 p.m. for all performances and admission is free. Pictured left to right: Ben Arredondo of Needville, Victoria Rutledge of Bay City, David Hiebert of Rosenberg, Elise Lauderdale of Ganado, Brennan Blankenship of Houston, Warren Motamedi of Plano, and Kelsey Buckley of Wharton. Not pictured is Chelsey Gates.
