Wharton County Junior College is pleased to announce the recent graduation of eight students from the Surgical Technology Certificate program.
The graduates include (pictured left-to-right): Heather Velasco, Instructor of Richmond; Melissa Bruton, Department Head of Needville; Jacklynn Parr of Damon, Arturo Ramos of Richmond, Andrea Pitre of Sugar Land, Erinn Powell of Katy, Jennifer Ramirez of Eagle Lake, Darren Larsen of Brazoria, Paige Summers of Edna, Rebecca Dota of Rosenberg, Paulette Perez, Instructor of Rosenberg, and Dr. Keith Dowell of Wharton.
As part of the graduation ceremony, the Clinical Excellence Award and Academic Excellence Award were both presented to Andrea Claire Pitre of Sugar Land. Prior to graduation, students successfully completed one year of intensive study to prepare them to pass the National Certification Exam for Surgical Technologists. Upon receiving their certification, they will practice the science and technology of surgical technology.
Applications for the 2013 fall class will be accepted through May 30, 2013.
