An unforgettable evening it was at the George Ranch Historical Park on Saturday! Themed “We Are Texas,” Lone Star Stomp XXIV presented by the Fort Bend County Museum with live music by the “Original” Triumphs, animated dancing, and the delicious Texas-sized dinner goes down as a hit for these great organizers. Ah, those Rosenberg based, fabulous Triumphs played until the end of the evening. You know, they began the band in a garage and later launched B.J. Thomas’ career.
At the George Ranch, the live and silent auctions could not have been any more generous with Anita and David Harris serving as honorary chairs of the event along with Jennifer Montgomery and Kathleen Randall in lead roles. There were also notable supporters as El Patron, Foreman, and Trail Boss.
So many museum friends and supporters are credited for helping preserve the area’s heritage from its beginnings having also contributed to today’s nationally acclaimed and prestigiously recognized stature. Proceeds from the event will benefit the educational and preservation efforts of the Fort Bend County Museum Association overseeing the George Ranch, the DeWalt Heritage Center, and Research and Collections. Next year’s Stomp will be on April 12th, ya’ll hear!
