Wharton CJC hosting free camps in developmental reading, writing, math

July 3, 2013 by FortBendStar

Wharton County Junior College will host two Summer Boot Camps for students whose Compass test scores indicate they need help in developmental reading, writing and/or math. Both camps are free, but preregistration is required.

Camp hours are 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The first camp takes place from July 22-26 on WCJC’s Sugar Land campus, while the second one takes place from July 29 to August 2 on WCJC’s Wharton campus.

In addition to receiving help in study skills, reading, writing and/or math, all participants will receive light breakfast, gift card and T-shirt. The ACT Compass® test serves as a placement test for incoming students to evaluate their skills in reading, writing, math and English.

For more information, or to register, contact Dr. Robin Nealy at 281-239-1590 or robinn@wcjc.edu or Ava Humme at 979-532-6435 or avah@wcjc.edu.
