I’m wondering what is happening to good old fashion service when you go into a restaurant, especially one that is just opening up. We went to the new Boggies at Dulles and Cartwright and sat down to order. I ordered the burger that came with fries and my wife decided on the turkey burger that came with fries. Both were clearly printed on the menu that fries were included. The waitress asked if I wanted fries and I pointed out that fries were already included and she said that no they were not but they were included with the turkey burger. We said okay, burger without fries and turkey burger with fries.
About 15 minutes later she came back and said that she was sorry but they had no turkey meat for a turkey burger but could give us a chicken sandwich, but of course it didn’t include fries. Dang, how am I gonna’ get my fries… $6.99 for a burger with no fries, I’m not paying that much and not getting fries. We left.
Our next stop was Carl’s Jr where we ordered the above order and got it fairly quickly, I had my fries. I was almost finished with my burger and needed a to-go order for my son. I ordered, paid, sat down, and waited, and waited, and waited. Folks who came in 10 minutes after I made my to-go order were eating and almost finished. They lost my order.
What is happening to the food service industry? I know, they must have been former congressmen and senators.
