Willowridge High School – the second oldest high school in Fort Bend ISD, inducted eight individuals into the Willowridge Wall of Honor last Saturday at The Power Center in Houston.
The Wall of Honor was founded by Willowridge graduate T.J. Ford, who led WHS to a UIL State Championship, University of Texas to the NCAA Final Four and played in the NBA between 2003-2012.
The eight inductees were Arvela V. Leslie-Cozart, Dexter W. Johnson, Sheri Chambers McCollum, Erick Powers, Carey Rigsby, William Sheldon Scott, Sean Anthony Wright and Sherman Wright.
In addition to the individuals, the Willowridge 1982 UIL State Football Championship Team and coaches, as well as the 1981 state runner-up squad and coaches, were inducted into the Wall of Honor.
Eighteen players and six coaches attended the event.
Texas State Rep. Sylvester Turner was the keynote speaker for the event and attendees included FBISD superintendent Dr. Charles Dupre, FBISD board of trustees president Grayle James, FBISD trustees Jim Rice and K.P. George and other district administrators.
