An off – duty police officer smelled marijuana near a car in First Colony Mall and called an on – duty police officer to investigate. Sugar Land police were called and according to authorities, three men were in the car from which the aroma was emanating.
When the investigation was completed, the owner of the car reportedly admitted to having smoked marijuana, at home, before he arrived at the Mall. He was arrested and charged with public intoxication.
When the 21-year-old man was booked into the city jail, police discovered several Xanax pills in his wallet. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The arrested man was identified as Sugar Land resident Cameron Colston.
