Missouri City resident Elvin Bethea, a member of the NFL Hall of Fame and former Houston Oilers great, spoke at the Fort Bend Family YMCA’s Annual Campaign, on Jan. 26 in Sugar Land. Bethea was one of several speakers, including Stafford High head football coach Ron Counter, former Oilers head coach (and Missouri City) resident Ed Biles and members of a local youth football teams. The Fort Bend Family YMCA has set a goal of raising $285,000. They’re pro-active about promoting Academic Achievement, preventing chronic diseases (such as hypertension and Type 2 diabetes), and Water Safety.
