Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse, Inc. collaborated with the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and the George Foundation, to host a Youth In Philanthropy volunteer site project on Saturday, February 4, at the Council’s Stafford facility. Sixteen (16) Fort Bend County junior and senior high school students mopped, waxed, and polished floors and made ready an outside flower bed for future planting.
Youth In Philanthropy brings together Fort Bend County high school students and provides them a unique opportunity to serve the community through volunteerism. Through the current school year (2011-2012), the team of selected students has embarked on a journey to strengthen connections with their community as well as with each other. Fort Bend Regional Council was happy to participate on this journey with the student leaders.
