Come one, come all, it’s story time y’all! Youth in Philanthropy presented by the George Foundation and the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce will be assisting the Literacy Council with Once Upon a Time, an entertaining and interactive reading workshop for children on March 3, at the Literacy Council. “Once Upon a Time” is a family literacy event where YIP students will host a children’s story time theater.
All children, ages 3 to 10 are invited to participate in this free workshop that will include story productions and a craft station. In addition, there will be a presentation on How to Read to Your Child for the parents. There will be recommended reading lists handouts and suggested brochures for parents on reading to their children.
The children will be entertained with the stories of Goodnight Moon, Frog and Toad Are Friends and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. YIP students will dress in costume as characters from these beloved children’s books and act out the book’s events. Once Upon a Time is sure to enhance your child’s love of reading.
The event will be held at the Literacy Council located at 12530 Emily Court, Sugar Land. There will be two sessions held for children at 11:00 a.m. and at 1:00 p.m.
If you are interested in having your child attend this event, please contact Lauren at the Literacy Council at 281-240-8181 to reserve a spot for your child at one of the two sessions. Once Upon a Time will be an educational and memorable experience for your child.
