Child Advocates of Fort Bend is gearing up for the 30th anniversary of the beginning of its mission to serve child victims of abuse and their families next month.
Invitations have been mailed out for the CAFB's 30th Birthday Gala Celebration, scheduled for May 8 at Sugar Land Marriott Town Square. Among attractions featured during the event will be a live band, live and silent auctions and a raffle as well as wine and gift card pulls, according to a news release from CAFB. “Soul Relief”, a six piece party band, will play throughout the evening. In addition, dancers from Cookie Joe’s Dancin’ School will provide guests with some live performances.
Highlights of the auction include a stay at a home that sleeps 17 on a private beach, a fishing excursion and a trip to Los Angeles with tickets to a live taping of "Ellen."
Per COVID-19 protocols, all guests at the May 8 event will be required to wear masks when not eating or drinking. To help with social distancing, tables will be for eight people instead of the standard 10, and there will be extra space in the silent auction and throughout the ballroom.
“We’re planning a great evening and have a lot of fun things in store for our guests,” CAFB Development Director Lisa Moore said. "We are balancing a party atmosphere with safety considerations and will be following CDC guidelines with safety protocols in place."
