A Richmond man has been arrested and accused of fatally shooting his father early Thursday morning, according to police.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said 20-year-old Micha Osei has been charged with murder in the shooting of 58-year-old Emmanuel Osei.
“My prayers are with this family. Please put them in your prayers,” Sheriff Eric Fagan said during a Thursday press briefing.
FBCSO said deputies responded to a home in the 7800 block of Ravens Point Drive in Richmond around 6:30 a.m. Thursday to find Emmanuel Osei inside his house with gunshot wounds to the face, back and leg. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Shortly after the shooting, police said a tow truck driver spotted Micha Osei near the McDonald’s restaurant off the Grand Parkway and West Bellfort Boulevard, where he was arrested. The weapon allegedly used in the shooting was later found in a neighbor’s yard, according to FBCSO.
Police said it was unknown what led up to the shooting, though FBCSO said its Crisis Intervention Team had previously responded to the home several times for calls related to suspected family violence.
