The Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) is accepting applications for its annual educational scholarships aimed at helping Fort Bend County women pursue higher education.

Through March 1, the organization will be accepting applications for four volunteer scholarships that will be given to graduating high school seniors as well as its New Beginnings Scholarship. Each volunteer scholarship is worth $1,000, while the New Beginnings Scholarship is worth $2,000.

To qualify for the volunteer scholarship, Fort Bend high school seniors must have completed at least 100 hours of volunteer service during high school while maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.5, and have plans to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university. The New Beginnings Scholarship is aimed at women in need who “has had a break or interruption in her education and who is returning to school, desiring to improve her career opportunities by furthering her education,” according to a news release from FBJSL.

Interested applicants can learn more about these scholarships and get a copy of the applications on the FBJSL’s website at fbjsl.org/scholarship-programs/.
