Artists of all ages could have the chance to showcase their work during a local art festival later this year.
The Sienna Art Festival is scheduled for Nov. 6 in the Sienna neighborhood of Missouri City. Participants of all ages and mediums will be able to show their tents and displays at the new model home village at Sienna Oaks Lake, 8611 Azalea Crossing Court. Spots are limited, and interested artists can sign up at siennatx.com/art-festival.
A news release said adults will compete in a show for prizes, while younger artists will be placed into age-specific brackets. The cost for adults is $175 for an outdoor space and $275 for an indoor space, while artwork from younger artists will be displayed in a separate dedicated tent for a $10 fee.
This will be the second annual festival, according to the release. The first event in 2019 drew nearly 50 artists who came from as far as Austin to participate, but was postponed last year due to COVID-19. This year’s event will also include live music, wine and food according to the release.
“Our first event was so relaxing, with people browsing the paintings, sculptures, jewelry, pottery and more while they sipped wine and enjoyed each other’s company,” Sienna marketing director Allison Bond said. “We are hoping to create the same type of ambiance this year.”
