Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital, located at 17500 W. Grand Pkwy S., was among eight hospitals in the Memorial Hermann Health System recently named as “Best Maternity Care Hospitals” by Newsweek.
This designation relies on data from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization that reports the quality and safety of healthcare facilities in the U.S., and was bestowed upon 217 hospitals across the country.
“This recognition is a testament to the great teamwork, high-quality care and commitment to patient safety that makes Memorial Hermann a great place for pregnant women,” said Victoria Reagan, vice president of Memorial Hermann's women’s and children’s service line.
Among the criteria hospitals were judged for were maternity care efforts that included “strong quality improvement efforts to decrease early elective deliveries, episiotomy, cesarean delivery in low risk women, and newborn bilirubin screening prior to discharge,” according to a news release from the hospital system.
